The GrandFinal would be tough, but you’ll be able to get into one of the lead up finals. I went to both the Hawk ones thisyear and they both drew around 75,000. Still an awesomeatmosphere!
A good idea, but the GrandFinal ain’t easy getting in to – without membership or corporate connections, you’re looking at $500+ to get in (some people were paying up to $2000 for a flimsy ‘hospitality package’). Still, a once in a lifetime experience. Seeing the Hawks sail homethisyear was something I’ll never forget – if only all GrandFinals could be so exciting.

Indeed. This video captures that loudness well. Watching Dewy’s goals float through was surreal from where I was sitting, anything to recreate that feeling is most welcome!
Here’s hoping our injuries don’t stretch past the first 5 or 6 weeks, and come round 17 – probably the more important of the two games against the Cats – we can show them what to expect come September.

Spot on. Of all the players that helped us get up that day, those two were PERFECT. Every touch flawless, every touch leading to something big. Just imagine what would happen if Buddy fired with them!

June 29th, 2009 at 2:21 am
i even remember him saying that he detests the hawks about 3 years ago on tv…so that explains it
June 29th, 2009 at 2:21 am
yeah that would have been the only bit of his commentary that was good, he was definitely on the cats’ side i reckon

Quite simply the greatest day in my footy life, and I’m nearly 42!! Sitting in the bay next to the cheer squad – absolutely unforgettable…

I remember saying to a patronm to the left of me “what the f___ is Stewie Dew doing in the forward line?” He agreed. Bagged it. The next 10 minutes proved me, him and the Geelong coaching squad abso-fucking-lutely wrong wrong wrong!!
June 29th, 2009 at 2:21 am

Dew and Rioli were inspiring in that third quarter.
Both had only been at the club 10 months. The 2007 super draft.

The stadium is in Melbourne, it’s the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and there were just over 100,000 people there-including me-and it was quite possibly the most exciting day of my life so far

If i ever go to Australia, I want to see an AFL match. The Grand Final would be awesome. How many people were at that match, and what is the stadium called, and what state/city is it in?
